China has recently signed up to the Hague Apostille convention which entered into force on 7th November 2023. This removes the requirement for the embassy attestation stamps on UK documents.

If you are moving to China for employment or returning home after studying in the UK then you will normally need to get your documents attested/legalised by the Chinese embassy. The Chinese Embassy is slightly different to many other embassies. They add a certificate to the back of the document that includes a hologram. This is normally applied to both the document and the apostille to prevent them from being separated. This can only be added after the UK apostille certificate has been issued.

When ordering we need two additional documents.

1. A copy of the passport for the person detailed on the document
2. A signed Chinese Embassy Form (just sign it, we complete the rest)
